Richard W. Mott

RICHARD W. MOTT joined Kyphon Inc. as President and Chief Executive
Officer in September 2002. In his role, Mr. Mott sets and leads the
strategic and operating direction for establishing the company as a
recognized leader in restoring spinal function through minimally-
invasive therapies. Previously, Mr. Mott held two positions at Wilson
Greatbatch Technologies Inc. serving as the Chief Operating Officer from
December 2000 to March 2002 and as Senior Vice President from January
1998 to November 2000. Mr. Mott holds a BS in Ceramic Engineering from
Alfred University and an Executive MBA from Harvard University.
