Richard Aurelio

RICHARD AURELIO is President and Chief Executive Officer of Varian
Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. (VSEA). He served as Executive
Vice President for Varian Associates’ semiconductor equipment business
until it spun out as a separate entity. Mr. Aurelio joined Varian
Associates in 1991 from a position as Executive Vice President of
Holland’s ASM Lithography from 1987 to 1991. Prior to that, he was Vice
President of Sales at the medical equipment manufacturer Picker
International, where he first headed its Nuclear and Ultrasound
division. His experience also includes positions as Group Operations
Manager for Fansteel/VR Wesson, a manufacturer of precision
metallurgical products, and management posts at Beatrice and General
Electric. Mr. Aurelio began his career as an Aerospace Design Engineer
following graduation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree
in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds an MBA from the University of
Louisville.
