Ralph S. Nelson

RALPH S. NELSON is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
of Trism, Inc., a truckload motor carrier, with its headquarters in
Kennesaw, Georgia. The company, through its various subsidiaries,
operates throughout the continental United States. Mr. Nelson is
responsible for the company’s legal affairs, human resources, safety and
risk management. He joined the Company in April 1996. Prior to joining
Trism, Mr. Nelson was with Burlington Motor Carriers, Inc., at the time
the fifth largest truckload motor carrier in the nation, where he was
for more than 11 years, in a similar capacity and, in addition, served
as Executive Vice President for five years and on the Board of Directors
for three years. Mr. Nelson has been in the transportation industry for
24 years, having begun with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1976.
Trism’s president resigned in October 2000 and has not yet been
replaced.
