R. Steven Hamner

R. Steven Hamner has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer of Medical Properties Trust, Inc., a company he co-founded, since
September 2003. Mr. Hamner also served briefly as Executive Vice President and
Chief Accounting Officer in the company’s earliest days. Prior to joining
Medical Properties Trust, he spent three years as Managing Director of
Transaction Analysis LLC, a company that provided interim accounting and
consulting services to commercial real estate owners and their advisers. Mr.
Hamner also spent three years as Vice President and CFO of United Investors
Realty Trust, a publicly traded REIT. In addition, Mr. Hamner spent a decade
with accounting and consulting firm Ernst & Young LLP and its predecessors. Mr.
Hamner is a certified public accountant and earned his bachelor’s degree in
accounting from Louisiana State University.
