R. Scott Sellers

R. SCOTT SELLERS is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Archstone
Communities. Since 1994, Mr. Sellers has played a pivotal role in the
growth and development of Archstone Communities into a premier, multi-
billion dollar, market-leading real estate investment trust. Under his
direction, Archstone has created a development pipeline of over $1.7
billion and has been a consistent top performer in the multifamily REIT
industry. Mr. Sellers has assembled an experienced, qualified management
team to help capitalize on opportunities in markets throughout the
United States. Through a carefully crafted strategy of research-based
capital management, Mr. Sellers has helped position Archstone
Communities as an innovative, market-leading REIT with a market
capitalization of over $5.3 billion. In 1998, Mr. Sellers was
instrumental in engineering the merger between Security Capital Pacific
Trust and Security Capital Atlantic Trust to form Archstone Communities.
With over 18 years in the multifamily real estate business, Mr. Sellers
has overseen the development of over 35,000 apartment units across the
country. Prior to joining Archstone Communities, Mr. Sellers held senior
positions with Security Capital Group and Lincoln Property Company. Mr.
Sellers received his Master of Business Administration from Stanford
University Graduate School of Business and his Bachelor of Science
Degree from Lewis and Clark College.
