Paul H. McDowell

PAUL H. MCDOWELL is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and a Founder of CapLease,
Inc. Until becoming CEO in early 2001 and Chairman in 2007, he was the Senior
Vice President, General Counsel for CapLease. From 1991 until joining the
company in 1995, Mr. McDowell was corporate counsel for Sumitomo Corporation of
America, the principal US subsidiary of one of the world’s largest integrated
trading companies. From 1987 to 1991, he was an Associate in the corporate
department at the Boston law firm of Nutter McClennen & Fish. He received his JD
cum laude from the Boston University School of Law in 1987 and received a BA
from Tulane University in 1982.
