Patrick L. Edsell

PATRICK L. EDSELL has been Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and
President of Spectra-Physics, Inc. since it went public in October 1997.
Prior to that, he served as President of the Spectra-Physics’ Lasers and
Optics Group since September 1990. From October 1986 until September
1990, Mr. Edsell was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
of Spectra-Physics AB and its predecessor, Pharos AB.
