MICHAEL MASDEA, a Director, is the senior research analyst in charge of
CSFB’s semiconductor franchise. His coverage spans the entire
semiconductor universe, including PC, diversified, analog/mixed-signal,
memory and communications semiconductor companies. He joined the CSFB
Technology Group in 1999. Before joining CSFB, he worked in the research
department at Volpe Brown Whelan & Co., covering the semiconductor
industry. From 1998 to 1999, he worked in the research department at
Robertson Stephens, covering the electronic design automation (EDA) and
technical software industries. Prior to Robertson Stephens, he
structured equity derivative products for Bear Stearns’ Private Client
Services department. Previously, he worked in electronic materials
research at Illinois Tool Works. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree and
Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern
University’s McCormick School of Engineering, where he received the
school’s highest honors. While earning his Master’s, he worked within
the Fundamental Research & Trading group at SBC Warburg.
