Michael J. Caliel has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Electrical Services (IES) since July 2006, leading the company’s transformation from 27 loosely affiliated companies to a single, integrated national corporation that now ranks among the three leading electrical contractors in the United States. Enhancing the company’s rich heritage of local operations staffed by more than 4,000 highly qualified and knowledgeable team members, Mr. Caliel has built a solid foundation focused on achieving the company’s vision of becoming the nation’s best and most respected electrical and communications contracting company. Under Mr. Caliel’s leadership, IES has improved operations and reduced costs by more than $50 million. IES has also dramatically improved its current cash position, retired more than $25 million in debt and renegotiated improved loan terms. Mr. Caliel came to IES following a successful career at Invensys, a global automation, controls and process solutions company. He served at Invensys for 13 years in a variety of senior management positions, including his most recent role as President of Invensys Process Systems. In this capacity, he was responsible for the company’s worldwide operations with revenues of more than $1 billion and more than 6,000 employees. Before becoming president of Invensys Process Systems, Mr. Caliel served as President of its North America and Europe, Middle East and Africa operations from 2001 to 2003. Prior to joining Invensys, Mr. Caliel was employed with Honeywell’s Industrial Automation and Control unit from 1991 to 1993, serving as Director of Marketing for the hydrocarbon processing industries. From 1981 to 1991, he held several senior management positions with Asea Brown Boveri’s (ABB) Process Automation Division. Mr. Caliel earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial distribution from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY.
