Gross, Michael

Michael Gross is the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and a founder of Solar Capital Ltd. (NASDAQ:SLRC) and Solar Senior Capital Ltd. (NASDAQ:SUNS). Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Gross was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Apollo Investment Corporation (NASDAQ:AINV), which he founded. In addition, Mr. Gross is a founder and former senior partner of Apollo Management, L.P. Prior to his 16-year tenure at Apollo Management, L.P., Mr. Gross worked in mergers and acquisitions at Drexel Burnham Lambert from 1987 to 1990. Mr. Gross currently serves on the board of directors of Global Ship Lease Inc. He also serves on the board of: Mt. Sinai Pediatrics Foundation, Kellogg Global Advisory Board and the Ross BBA Advisory Board. Mr. Gross earned a BBA in accounting from the University of Michigan and an M.M. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
