Michael Durham is the President and CEO of ADA-ES, Inc., a company he founded in 1985 to commercialize environmental technologies. Dr. Durham has been involved in the measurement and control of air pollution from utility and industrial sources for over 30 years. He has presented and published over 200 technical papers and has been awarded 18 patents. He received the 2001 Sensenbaugh Award by the Air and Waste Management Association for innovative air pollution control technology. In 2003, he received an R&D 100 Award for mercury control technology, and was selected as an International Fellow by the Society for Electrostatic Precipitation. In 2002, Dr. Durham was appointed to the National Coal Council by the Secretary of Energy. In 2012, he was awarded the A&WMA Frank Chambers Award for career achievements in the field of air pollution control. He is a Director and Current President of the Institute of Clean Air Companies, ICAC. Dr. Durham’s degrees include: B.S. Aerospace Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, 1971; M.E. Environmental Engineering, University of Florida, 1975; Ph.D. Environmental Engineering, University of Florida, 1978; and MBA University of Denver, 1997.
