Michael D. Winship

Michael D. Winship, P. Eng., is Orvana Minerals Corp.’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, and was appointed to the board in February 2013. He is currently a Director of Rubicon Minerals Corporation and a Director of Avanti Mining Inc. He has over 30 years of international experience in mine development, operations and corporate business. Mr. Winship was the Chief Operating Officer of Quadra FNX Mining Ltd prior to its acquisition by KGHM in 2012. He has also previously served as President of HudBay Minerals and Chief Operating Officer of PT International Nickel, now PT Vale. He has held project and operating positions with Inco, Placer Dome and Cominco. Mr. Winship holds a bachelor’s in mining engineering from McGill University.
