Michael Cockrell

MICHAEL COCKRELL is Chief Financial Officer of Sanderson Farms, Inc. He
graduated from the University of Mississippi with an Accounting degree
in 1979. After practicing as a Certified Public Accountant for one year,
he returned to law school and was graduated summa cum laude from the
University of Mississippi School of Law in 1983. He then received a
Master’s of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1984.
After practicing law with Wise Carter Child & Caraway in Jackson,
Mississippi, from 1984 to 1993, he succeeded Wyatt Davis at Sanderson
Farms as its Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He was elected to
the Board of Directors of Sanderson Farms in February 1998, and
currently serves as a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
