Merle D. Lewis

MERLE D. LEWIS is Chairman & CEO of NorthWestern Corporation. With a
strong strategic, operational and leadership background, Mr. Lewis has
provided the vision and strategic direction behind the substantial
growth of NorthWestern over the last five years. Mr. Lewis was elected
Chairman of NorthWestern Corporation in May 1997 and has served as Chief
Executive Officer since 1994. He joined NorthWestern in 1975 and has
served in a variety of senior management positions. He is also chairman
of the boards of NorthWestern Growth, CornerStone Propane Partners, LP,
Blue Dot and Expanets, and serves on the boards of a number of private
organizations.
