Jonathan Maurer

Jonathan Maurer is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of OPAL Fuels Inc. and has co-led the company since it was formed in December 2020. Previously, Mr. Maurer worked for over thirty years at OPAL Fuels’ parent company, FORTISTAR, a privately owned investment firm that provides capital to build, grow and manage companies that address complex sustainability challenges. There he was Managing Director and Co-Head of FORTISTAR’s Investment Team and led all management and investment activities associated with FORTISTAR’s renewable natural gas, landfill gas to power, and biomass energy investments. Mr. Maurer also served as a member of FORTISTAR’s management and investment committees. Prior to FORTISTAR, Mr. Maurer was a commercial banker with JPMorgan Chase & Co. Mr. Maurer has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University.
