Matthew P. Ziehl

MATTHEW P. ZIEHL, CFA is Portfolio Manager for The Guardian Park Avenue
Small Cap Fund, a series fund of The Park Avenue Portfolio, and The
Guardian Small Cap Stock Fund, a fund available only through variable
products offered by The Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company, Inc.
(GIAC) and distributed by Guardian Investor Services (GIS) LLC. GIAC
and GIS are each subsidiaries of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of
America. Mr. Ziehl joined the firm in January 2002, and has over 13
years of industry experience, with eight years of experience in small
cap research and portfolio management. He has an MBA in finance from
New York University and a BA from Yale University.
