Matt Boyle

Matt Boyle has been President and CEO of Sevcon, Inc., since 1997, having joined the company the previous year as Chief Operating Officer. Sevcon manufactures controls for all types of pure electric and hybrid vehicles. It is listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York but mainly based in the Team Valley, Gateshead. After graduating in electrical engineering and computing science from his hometown university in Glasgow, Mr. Boyle joined Ferranti Defence Systems in Edinburgh, as a radar designer and tester. He then went on to work for Phillips and Honeywell before being appointed Managing Director in the diesels division of GEC Alstom, and later being headhunted to join Sevcon.
