Markos N. Kaminis is an investment officer in Standard & Poor’s U.S.
Equity Research Department. He is currently responsible for the
analytical coverage of emerging growth, small to mid-capitalization
stocks spanning the spectrum of industries and sectors. He authors
research reports for distribution, and investment briefs for S&P’s
Marketscope and First Call. In addition to his research
responsibilities, he writes articles for The Outlook and Equity
Insights, Standard & Poor’s financial newsletters, and BusinessWeek
Online. On occasion, he also writes research on initial public
offerings. He is frequently quoted by major news and media
organizations, and has become a prominent S&P spokesperson, with a
reputation for insightful financial commentary and analysis. He began
his career at Standard & Poor’s in 1998, following financial sector
issues. At that time, his coverage responsibilities included regional
banks, trust companies, insurance companies, financial guarantee
reinsurance companies, real estate investment trusts and money
management firms. He is a graduate of Temple University and holds an MBA
from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of
Pittsburgh. Prior to his graduate work, he was employed as a mutual fund
accountant for two years at PFPC, Inc., a subsidiary of PNC Bank. He is
Series 7 and Series 63 licensed and is currently pursuing his Chartered
Financial Analyst designation.
