Lesa A. Sroufe, President and Chief Investment Officer of Lesa Sroufe & Co., Inc., leads the firm’s investment strategy and oversees the research and investment process. Her focus is on the stock research and selection used in managing separate portfolios. With more than 28 years of securities research and analysis experience, Ms. Sroufe continues seeking securities she believes are undervalued, often out of favor with mainstream investors and priced under their potential fair value. She was employed by Ragen MacKenzie, a New York Stock Exchange member brokerage firm and its subsequent owner, Wells Fargo & Co., for 14 years. During much of her career at Ragen MacKenzie, Ms. Sroufe was the Research Director. She also served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer before the company’s initial public offering in 1998 and through its sale to Wells Fargo & Co. in 2000. Throughout her tenure at Ragen MacKenzie, she managed the firm’s primary equity product, The Ragen MacKenzie Value List. Before her employment with Ragen MacKenzie, Ms. Sroufe was affiliated as a Securities Analyst with Foster & Marshall Inc., which is now a part of Morgan Stanley. After the Wells Fargo acquisition of Ragen MacKenzie, Ms. Sroufe was appointed Director of Research and member of the executive committee for Wells Fargo’s Private Asset Management. This division of Wells Fargo managed $55 billion in private client assets. Ms. Sroufe managed the research of 90 portfolio managers/analysts reporting on 360 companies. Ms. Sroufe received a B.A. in business from the University of Washington. Her professional affiliations include Chartered Financial Analyst, member of the CFA Society of Seattle, member of the Association of Investment Management & Research and board member of the Securities Industry Association from 1998 to 2000. She also was a lecturer for the University of Washington MBA Program, Finance 579, Practical Investment Management from 2003 to 2004, a past board member of the Campfire Boys and Girls as well as On The Boards. Ms. Sroufe is a current member, since 2003, and board member of Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, Seattle Chapter, from 2007 to 2009.
