Lawrence S. Doyle

LAWRENCE S. DOYLE was elected President, Chief Executive Officer and a
director of Annuity & Life Re (Holdings), Ltd., upon its formation in
December 1997. Mr. Doyle was the President and Chief Executive Officer
of GCR Holdings Limited, a Bermuda-based start up reinsurer specializing
in catastrophe risk, and its subsidiary Global Capital Reinsurance
Limited, from 1993 until their acquisition by EXEL Limited, a
diversified Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, in 1997, whereupon Mr.
Doyle became an Executive President of EXEL Limited. Prior to that, Mr.
Doyle was Senior Vice President of the Hartford Insurance Group in
charge of international operations, where he was employed for 27 years,
the last six of which he was also the President of Hartford Fire
International.
