John E. Baiyle

JOHN E. BAIYLE is the Chairman and CEO of Dendrite International, Inc. A
graduate of the University of New South Wales, John Bailye joined and
later purchased Foresearch, a small market research firm in his native
Sydney, Australia. Mr. Bailye focused his new firm on the pharmaceutical
industry and spearheaded its entry into the international marketplace.
In 1986, he established Dendrite International, Inc. to pioneer the
development of software applications for pharmaceutical sales force
management. In 1987, he relocated Dendrite’s headquarters and many key
staff from Australia to New Jersey. Since his move to the United States,
Mr. Bailye has expanded Dendrite International to over 1,200 employees
with offices throughout North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
He has taken the company from $250,000 in sales in 1986 to $112.5
million in 1998, establishing Dendrite as the worldwide leader in its
market sector. Both Mr. Bailye and Dendrite have won wide industry
recognition. In 1993, and again in 1998, Mr. Bailye was named New
Jersey’s Software and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst &
Young and was a National Finalist in 1998. Mr. Bailye has also received
the Golden Door Award from the New Jersey International Institute in
1998, which recognizes those who have come to the United States and
achieved commercial success. Mr. Bailye is a strong supporter of
entrepreneurialism and technology growth in New Jersey and, through
Dendrite, he is a Founding member of the New Jersey Technology Council.
