JOHN CORCORAN is an Internet/Digital New Media Analyst at CIBC World
Markets. He joined the firm’s research department in 1999 after spending
two years as a Research Analyst for Stephens Inc. He focuses on
companies that facilitate the creation, delivery and management of next-
generation content, services and applications for the Internet. This
includes enabling technologies (e.g., streaming, encoding, digital
rights management, broadband), destination (e.g., search, portal),
convergence between TVs/PCs, and advanced services (e.g., datacasting,
Web collaboration, voice/video portals, automated speech recognition,
edge technologies). Mr. Corcoran previously spent seven years as a Trial
Lawyer specializing in complex business litigation. He holds an AB with
honors from Harvard College, an MBA from Wharton Business School where
he was named a Palmer Scholar, and a JD from Boston University School of
Law where he was graduated Summa Cum Laude.
