John A. Klein

JOHN A. KLEIN is Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of People’s
Bank. During his more than 28-year career at People’s, Mr. Klein has
managed several key areas of the bank. This includes heading its
national and international credit card division, where he was an
architect of phenomenal growth and People’s recent expansion into the
United Kingdom. His promotion in 1999 to President and CEO and on
January 1, 2000, to Chairman of the Board, reflects an impressive career
at People’s Bank during which his vision and values have helped
distinguish People’s as a diversified financial service company. He
received his Bachelor’s degree in 1971 and his Law degree in 1977, both
from the University of Connecticut.
