JAMES C. DAY is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and
President of Noble Corporation. Mr. Day was elected CEO and President in
1984 and Chairman of the Board in 1992. He is active in various industry
and professional organizations, which include participation in the
International Association of Drilling Contractors which he previously
served as Chairman in 1990. He was recognized as Contractor of the Year
by the association in 1994. He also served as Chairman of the National
Ocean Industries Association in 1994. Spindletop, an industry
philanthropic organization, recognized Day in 1995 with the
Waggener/Griffin Award. The Offshore Energy Center, an industry
educational organization, recognized Mr. Day as the Pinnacle Award
Winner for 2001. He has been recognized as the top performing CEO in the
oil service and equipment sector by Institutional Investor magazine for
2004, 2003 and 2002. As picked by BusinessWeek magazine, Noble
Corporation was the top performing oil and gas service company in the
Standard & Poor’s 500 for 2002. Day serves on the board of directors of
Global Industries Ltd., ONEOK, Inc. and as Trustee of The Samuel Roberts
Noble Foundation. He is on the board of Sarkeys Energy Center at the
University of Oklahoma, the Offshore Energy Center, and the American
Petroleum Institute, where he serves on the Policy Committee. Mr. Day is
a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the
National Ocean Industries Association, the Society of Petroleum
Engineers, Inc., and the American Bureau of Shipping serving as one of
their Members of Council. He also is a past President of the Petroleum
Club of Houston, past Trustee of Spindletop International and past Board
Member of the Houston YMCA as well as Boys & Girls Country and Boy
Scouts of America. Mr. Day received his BS Degree in business
administration from Phillips University.
