H. Lee Thrash

H. LEE THRASH III is Vice President Planning/Development and Chief
Financial Officer of Caraustar Industries, effective September 1990. Mr.
Thrash attended Mars Hill College, where he graduated cum laude,
receiving a BS degree in Economics and Accounting. He then attended the
University of Georgia, where he completed his MBA with an emphasis on
Finance and graduated summa cum laude. Upon completion of his formal
education he started his business career with Ethan Allen, Inc. in their
Finance Department. During his career with Ethan Allen, from March 1975
to August 1982, he held various management positions in both Finance and
Operations. In September 1982 Mr. Thrash joined International Interiors
Ltd., Inc., as Plant Manager for their Atlanta, Georgia, manufacturing
facility. Mr. Thrash was employed by Caraustar Industries in 1983 and
his first assignment was Corporate Controller. In 1986 he was promoted
to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and shortly thereafter was
elected to the Caraustar Board of Directors. He is a member of the
Association of International Business Executives, National Association
of Cash Management, American Production and Inventory Control Society,
Japan Society, the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, Financial Executives
Institute and the Atlanta Association for Corporate Growth.
