Frank D. Barker

FRANK D. BARKER has been a Director of Canlan Investment Corporation
since 1986 and was appointed President and CEO in November, 1997. Prior
to joining the Company, he was Vice President of Corporate Investments
for Bartrac Holdings Ltd., a privately held investment company and
Canlan’s largest shareholder. Mr. Barker has a background in the
recreation field having served as a director of Whistler Mountain Ski
Corporation from 1988 to 1997. He has also served on the boards of both
public and private companies in the areas of oil and gas exploration,
saw milling, waste management and real estate development. Mr. Barker
graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of
British Columbia in 1980 and worked in commercial lending with a
Canadian bank before joining Bartrac in 1986.
