Edward A. Coppola

EDWARD A. COPPOLA is senior vice president and chief operating officer
of Zurich Emerging Markets Solutions (ZEMS). He joined Zurich in
September 1997 to serve as senior underwriter for ZEMS. In 2001, he was
named vice president for political risk insurance, and later chief
operating officer of ZEMS. He became senior vice president in 2003.
Prior to joining Zurich, Mr. Coppola served as regional manager of the
Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) of the World Bank. He
was part of the initial team that helped establish MIGA, and while there
he was responsible for policy form development and arrangement of
political risk guarantees for major infrastructure and natural resource
projects. Previously, Mr. Coppola worked as an insurance officer at the
Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and a claims officer at
the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Mr. Coppola holds an MBA
from the University of Michigan and a BA from Michigan State University.
