David D. Halbert

DAVID D. HALBERT is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of
AdvancePCS, the nation’s largest independent health improvement company.
Under his direction, the company recently recorded its 13th consecutive
year of averaging 143% compounded annual revenue growth. During that
time, AdvancePCS has earned a reputation in the healthcare industry for
continuous innovation. Mr. Halbert founded AdvancePCS in 1987, and has
successfully guided the firm from a small, privately owned company into
a strong publicly traded corporation that has become the largest
provider of pharmacy benefit management services in the nation.
AdvancePCS serves more than 75 million people ‘ one in every four
Americans ‘ and manages 525 million prescription transactions annually,
representing more than $21 billion in drug expenditures. Under Mr.
Halbert’s direction, the company entered the clinical research field in
1998 and more recently expanded its product base to include a full
complement of Internet-based services, including the award-winning e-
health portal www.AdvanceRx.com. Mr. Halbert brings to his current
position more than 20 years of management experience in the energy,
financial and healthcare industries. Before AdvancePCS, he founded
Halbert & Associates, Inc., an investment company that both formed and
financed a number of projects and companies in the banking, real estate,
energy and healthcare fields. Mr. Halbert graduated from Abilene
Christian University in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration. He participates in a number of community activities
including teaching Sunday school Bible classes and coaching youth
football, baseball, and soccer teams.
