Cynthia B. Merrell

CYNTHIA B. MERRELL was named Chief Financial Officer and
Treasurer of Cree, Inc., effective July 1998 after serving as
Interim Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Treasurer since
January 1998. Ms. Merrell joined Cree in 1996, initially serving
as Controller. From January 1992 to November 1996 she was
employed as the Controller of Kaset International, a subsidiary
of The Times Mirror Company which is engaged in providing
training, consulting and project management services in the field
of customer relations. Ms. Merrell’s prior financial experience
includes service in various capacities with Tropicana Products,
Inc., and the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. She
received a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Florida
and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida.
