Charles C. Stephenson

CHARLES C. STEPHENSON JR. co-founded Vintage Petroleum, Inc., in 1983
and has been a member of the Board of Directors since then, and Chairman
since 1987. He assumed the position of President and Chief Executive
Officer on February 18, 2004. He was previously Chief Executive Officer
from April 1987 to March 1994, and President from June 1983 to May 1990.
From October 1974 to march 1983, he was President of Santa Fe-Andover
Oil Company (formerly Andover Oil Company), an independent oil and gas
company, and from January 1973 to October 1974, he was Vice President of
Andover. Mr. Stephenson has a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from
the University of Oklahoma and has approximately 45 years of oil and gas
experience.
