Carl F. Thorne

CARL F. THORNE joined ENSCO International Incorporated (ENSCO) in May
1987 as President and Chief Executive Officer. In November 1987 he was
elected Chairman of the Board of Directors after having served on the
Board since December 1986. Mr. Thorne was self-employed in the oil and
gas business from April 1986 until May 1987. He served as President of
Sedco-Forex, the contract drilling division of Schlumberger Technology
Corporation, from December 1984 to April 1986. Prior to December 1984,
Mr. Thorne served as President of the drilling division and a Director
of Sedco, Inc., a contract drilling company. Mr. Thorne holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas
and a Juris Doctorate degree from Baylor University College of Law.
