John Butler initially was named a director at Akebia Therapeutics, Inc. and a short time later was appointed President and CEO. Earlier, he was CEO of Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals. Mr. Butler is Chair of Kidney Care Partners and formerly was Chairman of the board of trustees of the American Kidney Fund. Mr. Butler received a degree in chemistry from Manhattan College and an MBA from Baruch College.
