Alex Gauna

Alex Gauna is a Managing Director and senior research analyst covering the
semiconductor industry at JMP Securities LLC. Prior to joining JMP, he served as
an Executive Director and senior research analyst at UBS, where he covered the
semiconductor industry from 2001 through 2007. He was previously a Managing
Director and senior research analyst at Banc of America Securities and an
associate research analyst at Prudential Securities, working for two years at
each firm. Before starting his career in finance, he worked as an electrical
engineer developing hybrid electric vehicles at a California-based startup and
at Toyota’s headquarters research and development park in Aichi, Japan. He holds
an MBA degree from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA and a BS degree in
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California,
Berkeley.
