STEVEN R. WILLIAMS is President and Chief Executive Officer of Petroleum
Development Corporation. He has been the President and a Director of
Petroleum Development Corporation since joining the company in 1983. In
January 2004 he assumed the additional responsibilities of CEO and
Chairman upon the retirement of company founder James N. Ryan. Mr.
Williams has over 20 years of oil and gas operations experience,
including service with Exxon, Texas Oil and Gas, and Exco Enterprises.
His education includes a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. Mr.
Williams has served as a member of the Resources Committee of the
Interstate Oil and Gas Commerce Commission, the Executive Committee of
the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Board of
Directors of the Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia.
He also served as President of the Independent Oil and Gas Association
of West Virginia and Chairman of the West Virginia Public Energy
