FREDERICK S. CROWN, JR. is Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief
Investment Officer, AmSouth Bank. Mr. Crown manages the Investment
Management Group in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1982, he joined the former
First American National Bank (acquired by AmSouth Bank in 1999). Prior
to that, he worked in the investment area of an Alabama-based bank for
11 years. Mr. Crown is a 1971 graduate of the University of Alabama
where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors, majoring in
Mathematics. While a student at the University of Alabama, Mr. Crown was
admitted to membership in Phi Beta Kappa, a national fraternity for
students who achieve academic excellence. He is a member of the
Nashville Society of Financial Analysts, serves on the Investment
Advisory Council of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, and is
a member of the faculty of the Southern Trust School. Mr. Crown is a
Chartered Financial Analyst and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate
