MARK A. ANDERSON, was appointed President, Chief Executive
Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Community First
Bankshares, Inc., in March 2000. Community First is a $5.6
billion financial services company with corporate headquarters in
Fargo, North Dakota. The company offers a diverse array of
financial services in 137 markets spanning 12 states. Mr.
Anderson previously served as Vice Chairman'Corporate Services,
Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Secretary and
Treasurer of Community First Bankshares. He was former Executive
Vice President of the company and was appointed to the Office of
the Chairman in 1998. He is a co-founder of Community First
Bankshares, with more than 20 years of banking experience. Mr.
Anderson began his banking career in 1979 with First Bank
Brainerd, Minnesota, and was a commercial loan officer at First
Bank Austin, Minnesota, from 1980 to 1982. In 1982, he joined
First Bank of North Dakota as Vice President of Finance and
Credit Review. In 1984, he was promoted to First Bank System as
Vice President and Regional Controller. In 1987, he left this
position to co-found Community First. Mr. Anderson received an
MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul,
Minnesota, (1983) as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Finance and Mathematics from Moorhead State University in
Moorhead, Minnesota (1978). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst,
Certified Management Accountant and certified in financial
