STUART J.M. COLLINSON serves as Chairman, CEO and President of Aurora
Biosciences Corporation. He joined Aurora in May 1999 as President, was
appointed Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors
in November 1999 and in March 2000 was appointed as Aurora's Chairman of
the Board. Under his leadership, the company has raised over $75 million
in private financing, grown to over 400 employees, and formed a number
of significant collaborations including those with American Home
Products, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck and Pfizer.
Before joining Aurora, Dr. Collinson served as Chief Executive Officer
of Andaris Ltd., a privately held biopharmaceutical company in the UK.
He held senior management positions at Glaxo Wellcome and Baxter
International Inc., and was a consultant with The Boston Consulting
Group. Dr. Collinson received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a
PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oxford. Profile
