Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager from Woodley Farra Manion Portfolio Management Details Top Picks…and How to Avoid the Losers
Donald Woodley, the Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager of Woodley Farra Manion Portfolio Management has recently revealed his top picks for 2017.
Based on years of market research and detailed financial analysis, Woodley has 4 money-making stocks and clear investment advice on how to avoid money-losing portfolio picks.
The top pick? “Well, these days there are fewer and fewer stocks that really fall into our valuation ranges, just in areas like some of the pharmaceutical companies. Novartis (NYSE:NVS) has kind of hit some hard times, which makes us interested in that one,” Woodley says.
To help investors, the Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager of Woodley Farra Manion Portfolio Management has come up with these 4 hot recommendations:
1. Novartis AG (ADR) (NYSE:NVS)
They’ve got some drugs that have come off patent, and we see some new drugs that are coming out and are making their way up the ladder to become large drugs. And so we see them as a potential. They pay a dividend that’s in the 3.5% range these days.
2. Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD)
They have a nice HIV franchise. They’ve got $30 billion-plus of cash on hand, and we believe that they’re looking around for drugs that can be blockbusters that they can buy. So we look for them to be coming back too.
3. TJX Companies Inc (NYSE:TJX)
T.J. Maxx is a shop or something that draws physical shopping people into their stores to see what they’ve got because they don’t offer the same thing all the time, not the same brands, not the same type of merchandise all the time. It’s always a little bit different.
4. Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR)
Danaher is a very well-run company, buys other companies that are underperforming and transforms them and their costs, changes their management around, changes their product lines around and makes them more productive. They’ve got a long history of being able to do that and acquire companies.
