David M. Maley

David M. Maley is Senior Vice President and Lead Portfolio Manager of Ariel Investments, LLC. Mr. Maley is Lead Portfolio Manager for the microcap and small-cap deep value strategies. Additionally, he manages the firm’s domestic trading team and chairs Ariel’s trade oversight committee. He joined the firm in April 2009, bringing an impressive microcap value track record, as well as 25 years of investment experience. Prior to Ariel, Mr. Maley ran Maple Hill Capital Management. He began his investment career at Goldman Sachs, where he rose to Vice President, and then later joined Harris Bank as a vice president and senior portfolio manager. Mr. Maley serves on the Chicago advisory board of Good Sports, the investment committee of Thresholds, and the board of directors and finance committee of the Joseph Maley Foundation. He earned a BBA in finance with high honors from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
