S. CRAIG GEORGE has been a Director since October 1991, President of
Vintage Petroleum, Inc. since September 1995 and Chief Executive Officer
since December 1997. He was also Chief Operating Officer from March 1994
to December 1997, an Executive Vice President of the company from March
1994 to September 1995 and a Senior Vice President of the company from
October 1991 to March 1994. From April 1991 to October 1991, Mr. George
was Vice President of Operations and International with Santa Fe
Minerals, Inc., an independent oil and gas company. From May 1981 to
March 1991, he served in various other management and executive
capacities with Santa Fe Minerals and its subsidiary, Andover. From
December 1974 to April 1981, Mr. George held various management and
engineering positions with Amoco Production Company. He has a BS Degree
