Kenneth D. Malamed, Vice Chairman, CIO and Portfolio Manager of First Western Capital Management, is the lead portfolio manager on the Equity Growth and Income Equity strategies. Mr. Malamed’s formal career began when he founded The Financial Management Group in 1970. Seven years later, Mr. Malamed merged his company with Bear Stearns & Co. to create Bear Stearns Asset Management — BSAM. When BSAM decided to move their headquarters to New York in 1985, Mr. Malamed established Financial Management Advisors — FMA — an independent investment advisory firm. In 1992, FMA was purchased by Wertheim Schroder Investment Services, Inc., where he served as a managing director, Director of Fixed Income and Chairman of the credit committee until November 1995. In December 1995, Mr. Malamed re-established Financial Management Advisors to continue the same investment philosophy and style he had developed earlier in his investment management career. In May 2008, FMA was acquired by First Western. Profile
