JOHN A. DONOHOE, JR. is President and Chief Operating Officer of
MedQuist Inc. (NASDAQ:MEDQ). MedQuist Inc. is the leading national
provider of electronic medical transcription and healthcare information
management solutions. An experienced and respected figure in the medical
transcription and healthcare information management fields, Mr. Donohoe
joined Transcriptions, Ltd. in 1974. Since then, he has worked in almost
every capacity for the company from its inception with a handful of
employees in two offices to the leading medical transcription company in
the United States. In 1988, he was appointed Executive Vice President
and Director of Operations. After the sale of Transcriptions, Ltd. to
MedQuist Inc. in May 1994, Mr. Donohoe continued as the Executive Vice
President of the Transcriptions Division. The MedQuist Board of
Directors, recognizing Mr. Donohoe's leadership and operational
abilities, appointed him Chief Operating Officer of the parent company
in November 1995. In May of 1997 Mr. Donohoe was elected to the
MedQuist Board of Directors. In June of 1998, the MedQuist Board again
recognized Mr. Donohoe, asking him to assume the role of President and
Chief Operating Officer. Since then, through Mr. Donohoe's leadership,
the company has realized steady growth of approximately 33% each year,
with 1999 revenues reaching over $330 million. Today MedQuist boasts 92+
service centers and satellites nationwide, 2,400 support staff and more
than 8,500 trained transcriptionists, a total of over 10,000 employees.
Mr. Donohoe is married and has three sons and a daughter. Mr. Donohoe
attended Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA and was later one of the
founding Directors of the Board of MTIA, the Medical Transcription
Industry Alliance, from its inception in 1989 to 1999. Profile
