William D. Gehl

WILLIAM D. GEHL joined Gehl Company in November, 1992, as President and
Chief Executive Officer. Gehl was elected Chairman of the Board in
April, 1996. Prior to joining the company, he served as Executive Vice
President, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of The
Ziegler Companies, Inc., a West Bend, Wisconsin financial services
holding company. He held various positions with The Ziegler Companies,
Inc., since 1978 and was in private law practice prior to that time.
Gehl is a member of the Florida and Wisconsin Bar Associations. He holds
a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame, a
Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a
Master’s in business administration’finance from the University of
Pennsylvania Wharton Graduate School of Business. Mr. Gehl is past
Chairman and a director of the Equipment Manufacturers’ Institute (a
national construction and agriculture equipment trade association),
Chicago, Illinois, and a director of the Gehl Foundation; the West Bend
Economic Development Committee (the West Bend Urban Redevelopment
Corporation; Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce a business association
promoting the improvement of the economic climate of the State of
Wisconsin); the AED (Associated Equipment Dealers) Foundation, Oak
Brook, Illinois (a national foundation promoting education and training
of equipment dealer personnel); the Wisconsin FFA (Future Farmers of
America) Foundation, Madison, Wisconsin; West Bend Savings Bank and
ASTEC Industries, Inc., Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is the grandson of
Michael Gehl, one of four Gehl brothers who purchased the company at the
turn of the century. He has been a director of Gehl Company since 1987.
Gehl and his wife live in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. They have two
children.
