Robert V. James

ROBERT V. JAMES is Executive Vice President, U.S. Insurance Operations
of CNA Financial Corporation. He is responsible for the direction and
profitability of all US standard commercial lines. Before joining CNA in
1998, he served as President, Middle Markets, for AIG in New York. He is
a former Allstate Insurance Company agent; independent agency producer
and owner; and held marketing, underwriting, operations and technology
assignments with Allmerica Financial Corp. At CNA, he has served in key
leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer of Commercial
Insurance and Executive Vice President of the Technology and Operations
Group. Mr. James is a Certified Insurance Counselor. He graduated from
San Diego State University with a degree in Psychology and attended the
Graduate School of Sales Management and Marketing, Syracuse University.
