Richard Smith

RICHARD SMITH has been President, Chief Executive Officer, and a
Director of Tri Counties Bank and TriCo Bancshares since November
1999. TCB is a community bank founded 20 years ago that has grown
from an initial $1 million investment to $630 million in assets
by predominately serving rural communities throughout Northern
California. Mr. Smith joined the Bank in 1993 as Vice President-
Supermarket Banking. In 1994, he served as Vice President and
Chief Information Officer of the Bank. He then became Senior Vice
President ‘ Customer/Employee Support and Control in 1995 and
became Executive Vice President in the same capacity in October
1997. Mr. Smith then advanced to President and Chief Operating
Officer of the Bank in September 1998.
