PIERRE ALEXANDER CHAO, Managing Director, is responsible for coverage of
the US and global aerospace/defense industry at Credit Suisse First
Boston. Prior to joining CSFB in 1999, Mr. Chao was the Senior
Aerospace/Defense Analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter from 1995-1999
and the senior industry analyst at Smith Barney during 1994. His other
experiences include being a co-founder and director at JSA International
and M&A Banker at Prudential-Bache Capital Funding focusing on
aerospace/defense (1988-90). In 2000, Mr. Chao was appointed by
President Clinton to the Presidential Commission on Offsets in
International Trade and participated on the Army Science Board. He is a
member of the Aerospace Analyst Society (formerly President), Air Force
Association, Society of Old Crows, The Navy League, Wings Club, Foreign
Policy Association and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has made
numerous presentations and testified before organizations such as the
U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, the House Science Committee, DoD
Defense Science Board, Aerospace Industries Association Board of
Governors, Electronics Industries Association, NASA, DGA (France) and
NATO. Mr. Chao earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Political
Science and Management Science from MIT.
