Michael W. George

MICHAEL W. GEORGE, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined UroCor,
Inc. as President and Chief Operating Officer in August 1998. Within
this capacity, Mr. George created a leadership team, restructured the
company’s operating functions, developed and implemented a new marketing
strategy, improved compensation and benefit packages, and significantly
reduced costs. He was appointed by the Board of Directors as President
and Chief Executive Officer in October 1999. Prior to joining UroCor,
Mr. George spent more than 25 years with the large multi-national
pharmaceutical companies of Sandoz, Bristol Meyers and DuPont Merck.
Immediately prior to joining UroCor, Mr. George spent nine years with
DuPont Merck, holding general management positions such as President,
North America; President, International; and Executive Vice President,
Administration. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration
and has spent several years living abroad while managing international
business operations. In addition to his UroCor, Inc., responsibilities,
Mr. George is active in his church, the United Way, Boys and Girls Club
of Oklahoma City and serves on the Board of Directors of both UroCor,
Inc., and Avanir Pharmaceuticals. He is a member of the American Legion,
as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
