Michael J. Gasser

MICHAEL J. GASSER is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
of Greif Bros. Corporation, a position he has held since June 1994. Mr.
Gasser joined Greif in August 1979 as Internal Auditor at the company’s
headquarters in Delaware, Ohio. Prior to that, he was Manager of Audit
with the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Gasser
progressed steadily in his career with Greif, becoming Controller in
1981, a member of the Finance Committee in 1987, Vice President of
Finance in 1988, a member of the Board of Directors in 1991, Vice
Chairman and Chief Operating Officer in 1994, and later Chairman in
1994. Mr. Gasser serves on the Board of Directors for Bob Evans Farms.
He is also active with his alma mater, Ohio Northern University, where
he is a member of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Investment
Committee, and Member of the Financial Affairs Committee. Mr. Gasser
graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1976.
