LEWIS JAFFE, president and chief operating officer of Verso
Technologies, Inc., is responsible for leading the company to achieve
aggressive revenue goals through strategic positioning, new business
development and channel management. He has significant experience in the
telecom applications and services sectors. Prior to joining Verso, he
led the highly successful turnaround of PictureTel, a $500 million
public company having sustained multi-million dollar losses for the
previous three years, including a loss of more than $250 million in the
12 months prior to his joining. As president, Mr. Jaffe designed and
executed the plan which returned the company to profitability in just 18
months. He also served as Vice Chairman of Wireone/Glowpoint, a video
over IP service provider, and as a managing director in Arthur
Andersen’s Corporate Finance practice, where he was involved with
creating turnaround plans and advising management teams on how to
implement them. Prior to 1998, he served as President of C Systems, LLC,
a designer and manufacturer of mobile military shelters, housing,
communication, radar and missile launch systems, Core M, Inc., a medical
device manufacturing company that produced medical monitoring and
control systems and The Gem Group, Inc., an importer and distributor of
sports licensed and promotional products. Mr. Jaffe has served on
numerous Boards of Directors of public, private and non profit
organizations. Currently he serves on two public company boards, Act
Teleconferencing and Benihana as well as Travizon Inc., Pixion, Inc.,
and the Turnaround Management Association of New England. In addition to
his management and board experience, Mr. Jaffe is a renowned public
speaker on the topics of management and leadership and has been a guest
on a number of business shows for CNBC, MSNBC and ABC, and has been
quoted in a variety of business and trade publications including Forbes
magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Business Week and
The Boston Globe.
