John D. Barker

JOHN D. BARKER joined Wendy’s International, Inc., in May 1996 as Vice
President of Investor Relations. In 1998, he was promoted to Vice
President of Investor Relations and Financial Communications, and in
2003 was promoted to Senior Vice President. Today he manages the
company’s investor relations, financial communications and enterprise
planning functions, and is a member of the company’s Strategic Planning
Council and Executive Staff. Prior to joining Wendy’s, Mr. Barker was
Manager of Investor Relations and Financial Communications for American
Greetings Corp. in Cleveland, Ohio, a $2 billion manufacturer of
greeting cards, gift wrap and paper goods. Mr. Barker previously held
positions as Business Copy Editor for The Plain Dealer newspaper in
Cleveland, Ohio; Business Editor for The Beaver County Times newspaper
near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Director of Marketing and Advertising for
Cosmopolitan Fitness Corp. in Pittsburgh; and he was a news desk editor
and sports reporter for The Observer-Reporter newspaper in Washington,
Pennsylvania. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
from The Ohio State University and graduated from Waynesburg College
with a BS in English.
